How UK Junction moderates listings and content

1 MIN READ ยท UPDATED 1 AUG 2026

Every listing on UK Junction goes through a moderation process before and after it's published, here's how it works.

Before a listing goes live

1
Automated checks
New listings are automatically screened for prohibited keywords, banned categories, and suspicious patterns.
2
Human review
Listings that pass automated checks, or are flagged for closer review, are checked by our moderation team, usually within a few hours.
3
Published, or needs changes
If everything's in order, your listing goes live. If not, My listings shows it as Needs changes with a message that automated checks didn't approve it, you can either edit and resubmit it or appeal the decision.

After a listing is live

Published listings can still be reviewed if reported by another user, or if they're later found to breach our policies, and may be suspended as a result. See our Trust & Safety Policy for what's not allowed.

Listing statuses explained

  • Draft, saved but not submitted
  • Awaiting review, submitted and waiting for moderation
  • Published, live and visible in search and browse
  • Needs changes, reviewed and not approved, you can edit and resubmit it or appeal the decision
  • Suspended, removed by our moderation team after publication for breaching our policies
  • Expired, automatically removed from active search after a period of inactivity
  • Sold, marked sold by the owner and removed from active search

Appealing a moderation decision

If you believe a listing was rejected in error, open it from My listings, a listing marked Needs changes shows an Appeal this decision form where you can explain why the decision should be reviewed.

Tip: Most rejections come down to a small number of common issues, vague descriptions, missing photos, or a mismatched category. See How to post your first listing for tips that help your listing pass review the first time.
