Refund Policy
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains your rights when you pay UK Junction Trading Ltd directly, for example, for a Plus or Pro subscription plan, or a one-time listing boost (Premium or Featured). It's written to reflect UK consumer law as it applies to ongoing digital services. UK Junction does not charge fees or commission on transactions between users, so this policy relates only to the payments described above.
2. Your 14-day cancellation right
Because these are purchased online, they are a "distance contract" under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. As a consumer, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason. By subscribing or buying a boost, you expressly request that it begins immediately rather than waiting for the 14-day period to pass. This affects what you're entitled to:
If you cancel a subscription within 14 days and have not used any paid features, you will receive a full refund. The same applies to a one-time boost if you cancel before it has gone live.
If you cancel a subscription within 14 days after using paid features, we will refund only the proportion of the payment that relates to the unused period or unused benefit, calculated on a pro-rata basis, and we do not refund any amount beyond this statutory minimum. A one-time boost is a fixed 7-day promotion that starts immediately and is fully delivered to other users from the moment it goes live, so once it has gone live it is treated as fully supplied and is not refundable, in line with Regulation 36(1) of the 2013 Regulations.
3. Cancelling after the 14-day period
After the 14-day cancellation window, you can still cancel your subscription at any time from Billing in your account. Cancelling stops future renewal:
- Cancel at period end, you keep access to paid features until the end of your current billing period, with no refund for that period, and you won't be charged again.
- Cancel immediately, access ends straight away. There is no refund or credit for the unused portion of the current period, this will be made clear to you before you confirm.
One-time boosts do not renew automatically and follow the same non-refundable rule once live, described in Section 2.
4. Faulty or incorrectly charged payments
If you were charged in error, charged after a successful cancellation, or charged twice for the same period or boost due to a processing fault, contact us and we will investigate and refund any amount incorrectly charged. This is separate from, and unaffected by, the statutory cancellation terms above.
5. Plan changes & proration
Upgrades and downgrades follow the pricing and timing shown to you at the point of change. We always show the full new price and effective date before you confirm, nothing is billed automatically without your approval, and downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period. We do not apply unexpected proration or hidden partial charges. See your Billing page for details of any scheduled change.
6. Marketplace purchases (goods from other users)
UK Junction is not a party to sales between buyers and sellers on the Platform, and this refund policy does not cover the price paid for an item bought from another user (see Section 4 of our Terms & Conditions). If you have a problem with an item bought from a business seller, you may have rights against that seller under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you have a problem with a private seller, contact them directly to resolve it, our Trust & Safety team can assist if the seller has breached our policies, for example through fraud or a misleading listing.
7. How refunds are paid
Where a refund is due under this policy, it is issued to the original payment method via Stripe, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we are informed of your decision to cancel, in line with Regulation 34 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
8. How to request a refund
Go to Billing in your account dashboard, or email help@ukjunction.com with your account email and the date of purchase. We aim to respond within 1 to 2 business days. If we're unable to resolve a complaint to your satisfaction and it is eligible, you may be entitled to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) service, this does not affect your statutory rights.
