About the role
Start your career in carpentry with a hands-on apprenticeship that combines practical experience with professional training. You’ll learn alongside a young carpenter who has recently completed the same course, giving you relatable support and guidance as you develop your skills.
As a Carpentry Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced carpenters and learn the skills needed to become a qualified tradesperson. Your day-to-day duties will include helping with measuring and marking out, cutting and fitting timber, using hand and power tools safely, assisting with first and second-fix carpentry, preparing materials and keeping the work area clean and organised.
You’ll gradually take on more responsibility as your skills and confidence develop. You’ll also work closely with a recently qualified young carpenter who has completed the same training, giving you practical support and guidance while you learn on-the-job.
You’ll be expected to arrive on time, work safely, listen to instructions, take pride in your work and show a positive attitude towards learning.

After your apprenticeship
On successful completion of your apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to stay on with the company and progress into a permanent carpentry role. As you develop your skills and experience, you may also have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 Carpentry and Joinery qualification, further developing your knowledge and opening up additional career opportunities within the construction industry.

Working hours
Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.
40 hours a week
Duration: 1 Year 9 Months
Possible start date: 15 October 2026

£16,640 a year
